I have a genuine desire to improve our community and the quality of life in
Lassen County, and to serve the citizens of our county.

Pastor of a local church, ministering to the needs of a local congregation for the
last 16 years.

Community Volunteer; current Chaplain with the Lassen County Sheriff for the
last 7 years.

Police Officer and Sergeant, Long Beach Police Department 18 years.

Certified Drug Recognition Expert & Instructor.

Relief Camp Coordinator following hurricane Katrina, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.

Stability – Married to the same woman for 44 years, raising 7 children together.

Political and Constitutional Conservative.

Successfully lead a team of volunteers that established and currently operates a
successful radio station in our community, 88.5 FM – KWLK

Had a great time at the “Candidate Forum” hosted by Sam Williams and the Lassen County Times. There was a great turn out from the public who got to hear from the various candidates on the issues.
We had a great and informative “Meet & Greet” in Westwood on Saturday. We were please to be able to meet with several members of the Westwood community. I heard lots of great ideas and got an education of the needs of the area, so appreciated!

Mike led a team of volunteers to Haiti after a large earth quake assisting with relief efforts.
Mike Scanlan 1:14 PM (8 hours ago) to me Mike coordinated a large relief camp in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi after hurricane Katrina. Mike directed the kitchen crew who fed 6,000. Utilizing a volunteer crew of anywhere from 40-200 people at a time. Working in the kitchen, coordinating construction efforts at multiple locations simultaneously in the community, directing personnel and assets, coordinating with local authorities, at the same time making sure that the practical needs of the volunteers were met, that they also were fed and kept safe.

I had the privilege of meeting with the Clear Creek Community Service District Water Board last night. They allowed me to present my candidacy for Lassen County District Supervisor in District 1. Besides being a Pastor, a former Police Officer, and community volunteer. I am not a politician, I am running a “grass-roots” campaign supported by ranchers and farmers, small businessmen, retiree’s, law enforcement officers, both active and retired. I am supported by families with kids, young people, and students. I will work for and represent the people in Clear Creek, Westwood, Spaulding, and Susanville. I will be accessible and responsive to my constituents.
